Do I need a blog or a web site?

Why spend $3000 on a website and wait 3 weeks for its creation when you can get online for next to nothing in a few hours? Traditional websites by expensive web designers are dead! The need for fast time to market makes them anachronistic. Not to mention the cost savings. The business owner is no longer beholden to their web developer; shackled by their (un)availability as to how and when their website is updated. A blogging platform is the solution; whether it be Wordpress or Blogger or Typepad or one of the other blogging platforms that are available at no or low cost. My preference is for Wordpress due to its many features:
- its search and archive capabilities
- syndication through RSS feeds
- management of comments through which you can foster relationships with customers and leads
- a myriad of themes that gives your site different skins
- a plethora of plugins which enable ecommerce and shopping carts, Google AdWords, and image and video manipulation. On any blogging platform the owner can
- get online in hours not weeks
- get recognized by search engines in days not months
- make updates at any time
- test their business ideas early without major financial outlay
- get feedback from clients
- and always be testing and tuning their online business What cost thousands before is now virtually free for those willing to learn, and only a few tens of dollars for those that want technical support. Never has there been a better time to launch your business online.
