The Demise of the Plastic Bag
At last, big business attacks that most irritating modern accessory, the plastic bag. Today, 28th Feb 2008, Marks & Spencer, a UK based food and clothing chain store, starting charging 5p (about 10 cents) for a plastic bag. I think this sends out the right message, "Polluter pays", however M&S could have gone further: say £5 ($10) for a plastic bag with the funds going to into various local recycling projects such as those found at http://www.capitalwastefacts.com Please don't propagate the waste of plastic bags. There are one trillion of them on the planet. Go for paper or cloth bags instead. |
M&S to charge 5p for plastic bags

The only acceptable use of a plastic bag is to hold up a column of 18 tanks in the name of democracy.
